How do I check and update my web browser?


To meet the new PCI Security Standard (PCI DSS) required by all websites that hold payment data, PayPal will no longer support outdated web browsers. You may need to update your browser to continue accessing PayPal. Please follow the steps below to update your desktop and mobile browsers.

Instructions to update desktop browsers
Please visit our sandbox site from each of your browsers. If the page loads, you are already upgraded. If the page doesn't appear, please follow the steps below:
  1. Identify your current browser version
  2. Confirm recommended desktop operating system and browsers
  3. Update your desktop browser
Instructions to update mobile browsers
  1. Confirm recommended mobile operating system and browsers
  2. Update your mobile browser

Step 1: Identify your desktop browser version 

Internet Explorer
  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. Select Tools.
  3. Choose About Internet Explorer.

Edge
  1. Open Edge.
  2. Select More.
  3. Select Settings.
  4. Scroll to About this app.

Mozilla Firefox (Windows)
  1. Click the Open menu.
  2. Select Help.
  3. Select About Firefox.

Mozilla Firefox (Mac)
  1. Select Firefox on the top menu.
  2. Select About Firefox.

Chrome (Windows)
  1. Select the Customize menu.
  2. Select Help > About Google Chrome.

Chrome (Mac)
  1. Select Chrome on the top menu.
  2. Select About Google Chrome.

Safari
  1. Select Safari on top menu.
  2. Select About Safari.
